DXC Technology’s Mike Salvino Out As CEO

In a statement released on Wednesday, DXC Technology said that its president and CEO had resigned from his position on December 18, several months after an attempt to acquire the global IT solution provider was unsuccessful. Raul J. Fernandez, a member of the DXC board of directors, will succeed Mike Salvino, who has been serving as Chief Executive Officer and President of DXC since 2019 and as Chairman of the Board since 2022. Salvino will immediately stand down from his position as chairman of DXC, but he will continue to work for the company until March 31 of the next year to assist with the transition to a new CEO.

A couple of months ago, Salvino, who is 57 years old, became the second top executive of DXC to resign from his position. Ken Sharp departed his position as executive vice president and chief financial officer at DXC in September. As of December 11, he is currently serving in the same capacity at the security company Peraton, which is situated in Reston, Virginia.

The decision to replace Salvino with Fernandez was made by the board of directors of DXC, which is situated in Ashburn, Virginia, and is ranked No. 10 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500. No explanation was provided for this decision. By the time this article was published, DXC had not responded to a request for more information made by CRN.
Fernandez, who is also 57 years old, is a top executive in the information technology channel with a great deal of expertise there. Proxicom, an early provider of interactive professional services during the dot-com era, was the company that he created and worked for from 1991 until 2001. After that, he went on to serve as the North American CEO of Dimension Data for one year.

In 2004, Fernandez was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ObjectVideo Labs, an early developer of computer vision technology. Alarm.com eventually purchased ObjectVideo Labs in 2017. At the moment, Fernandez is serving on several boards of directors, one of which is the board of directors for Broadcom. Since August of 2020, he has been serving on the board of directors for DXC.
