Abreu among 14 to sign with Rainbow Warriors

During the early signing period, which began on Wednesday, Frank Kahoa Abreu, a senior at Kamehameha Schools Maui, was one of fourteen prospects that joined the University of Hawaii football team’s Class of 2024. During the course of this season, Abreu recorded 26 receptions for 463 yards and seven touchdowns, making him the all-time receiving leader for the Warriors with more than 2,000 yards in his career. He played in five and a half games. After suffering a partially torn posterior ligament in his left knee during Kamehameha Maui’s regular-season finale against King Kekaulike on October 27, his senior season was cut short. King Kekaulike was the team that finished off the regular season.

Listed as weighing 200 pounds and standing at a height of 6 feet 4 inches, Abreu was present on Oahu on Wednesday with the Warriors basketball team as they competed in the Iolani Classic contest. The position of tight end is one that he is looking forward to embracing, and he is expecting to move into it. Oh, wow, I am so incredibly excited. Last month, he expressed his gratitude to The Maui News by saying, “I’m just grateful that I can continue my football career and having a good time.”

Along with Punahou linebacker Alika Cavaco-Amoy and offensive lineman Tu’i Muti, Campbell defensive end Nazaiah Caravallo and offensive lineman Joshua Tavui, Kamehameha Kapalama defensive end Tristan Waiamau-Galindo, and Saint Louis defensive end Noah Wily, Abreu is one of seven Hawaii natives who have signed with the University of Hawaii.
